The discoveries of Sharing our Stories, brought out of the archive and into the light, on public display at St Walburge’s Church, Preston.
From the archive, into the light
Our history, on display
After months of cataloguing and conservation, the most striking finds from St Walburge’s archive are being brought together in a public exhibition: a chance to see the parish’s history first hand.
Photographs, letters, registers and architectural drawings tell the story of the church and the generations of Preston people who made it their spiritual home. Many of these items have not been seen for decades, and some are on public display for the very first time.
The exhibition has been shaped by the volunteers themselves, who chose the themes and objects that spoke to them most as they worked through the collection. It is their reading of the archive, and a warm invitation to discover the church’s history for yourself.
